Who is eligible for a refund?
- a foreign national of a country that is not a member state of the Eurasian Economic Union
- who is exporting goods purchased from a retailer in the Russian Federation to the country that is not a member state of the Eurasian Economic Union within 3 months from the purchase date.
What are the requirements for getting a refund?
Purchase(s) should be:
- made within 1 calendar day.
- made in the amount of 10,000 rubles or more.
- made in 1 retailer store connected to the Sber Tax Free system. See here for a list of participating retail chains and stores.
- exported from the Russian Federation and outside the Eurasian Economic Union within 3 months from the purchase date.
How to obtain a refund:
By creating an online voucher
Steps:
- Scan a QR code on the cash receipt with a smartphone camera or enter the data from the cash receipt on the website;
- Follow further instructions on the website;
- Save the generated on the website voucher to the phone;
- When leaving the Russian Federation with the purchased goods, show the online voucher on your phone at the Customs desk.
By obtaining a hard-copy voucher from the retailer
Steps:
- After a purchase, ask a store employee to issue you a Tax Free voucher; you will have to show them your passport as ID.
- The employee will fill in the voucher. Check the data in the voucher and, if everything is correct, sign it.
Additionally, you will receive an international envelope.
- When leaving the Russian Federation with the purchased goods, present the following items at the Customs desk:
- passport;
- the purchased goods;
- the Tax Free voucher.
- Get your voucher stamped by Customs;
- Place a stamped hard copy of your Tax Free voucher in the Sber Tax Free Container that is located next to the Customs desk.
Please note that the voucher can also be sent in the envelope received at the retailer store earlier by mail from anywhere in the world.
