Please obtain a sick note as per the form established in the given country (legalized as per the official procedures of the issuing country). Then, after returning to Russia, you will need to visit the medical board (at your polyclinic). The board will review your documents and make a decision. If a positive decision is made, the board will issue a sick note in the established unified form. If your documents are rejected, you need to take annual leave for the time you were off work. |

How will I be paid during my sick leave?

As per the applicable legislation, staff members with HQS status are not eligible for paid sick leave. You are recommended taking paid leave (vacation) for the time you are off work sick. In case of long-term sickness, an HQS employee shall be guaranteed a minimum payment of 250,500 rubles per quarter. |

The information below is applicable for those who have been working in Russia for over six months (i.e., your employer has been paying insurance contributions to the fund of obligatory social insurance in case of sickness). If you have been officially employed in Russia for less than six months, you are not entitled to paid sick leave. However, if you wish to obtain compensation, it is recommended that you take paid leave (vacation) for the time you are off work sick. An allowance for temporary absence from work resulting from the loss of capacity to work owing to sickness or trauma, with the exception of the following situations: quarantine, prosthetic dentistry owing to medical necessity and aftertreatment in a treatment organization immediately after receiving medical assistance from an inpatient institution, shall be paid in the following amounts:
Irrespective of one’s average wage, the maximum sick leave pay (per day) may not exceed the limit fixed by the Russian Government for the given calendar year, i.e.: 4,039.73 roubles per day in 2024. |
