In October 2015, the Museum of Moscow will exhibit a unique collection of images of pre-revolutionary Moscow from Sergey Chelnokov’s archive, available for the first time for the general public. Most of the photos were made using the then-unique technique of ‘stereo-pairs’, which require the images to be viewed through a special device, creating a 3D picture. A series of lectures ‘Photography and Cultural Memory’ will run alongside the exhibition.

HSE’s Extreme Sports student club offers students, teachers and employees at HSE, and their friends, the opportunity to take part in a series of spring and summer trips. Trips on offer include: hiking through Crimea and Abkhazia, climbing Europe’s tallest mountain – Mt. Elbrus, an expedition to the Sayan Mountains and a surf camp in Portugal.
HSE MIEM tourist club invites international students, lecturers and researchers to participate in a trekking trip to Russian South (Western Caucasus, near Sochi). The trip will last 12 days, from April 30 to May 12 . This is going to be a moderately easy trekking route to Gora Oshten. To take part in this trip, one doesn’t have to be a wilderness survival expert. Nevertheless, basic preparation and equipment to ensure safe trekking are required.
On November 24, an English-language course will begin on Coursera called ‘The Economics of Transition and Emerging Markets,’ taught by Marek Dabrowski, a well-known Polish economist and professor in HSE’s Department of Applied Economics.
