The HSE Look is glad to present an interview with Professor Angel Barajas, who initially joined HSE’s campus in Perm as a Leading Research Fellow of the International Laboratory of Intangible-Driven Economy and recently became the Head of the Department of Finance at HSE St. Petersburg, as well as the supervisor of a Master’s programme
HSE has campuses in four cities, and HSE St. Petersburg opened five years after the main campus, in 1997. It has over 4200 students, over 300 faculty members and 100 researchers who focus on different frontline issues in economics, business, humanities, law and social sciences. In 2013 Sergey Kadochnikov, Doctor of Sciences in Economic Theory and former Director of Graduate School of Economics and Management at Ural Federal Univeristy, joined HSE St. Petersburg as its Director. Prof. Kadochnikov told The HSE Look about what HSE St. Petersburg has achieved, about its international and domestic partners as well as its development plans.
Dr. Elena Cirkovic is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science and International Relations, Bosphorus University (Turkey), who is spending this summer at HSE St. Petersburg as a Visiting Researcher at the Department of Political Science. She has shared with HSE News Service her experience of working at HSE St. Petersburg and gave some advice to scholars and students.
Dirk Meissner, Professor at the Institute for Statistical Studies and Economics of Knowledge and the Academic supervisor of the Master’s Programme ‘Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation’, told The HSE Look about its development and achievements.
Christian Fröhlich is Assistant Professor at the School of Sociology and has been at HSE since 2014. He also supervises an English-taught Master’s Programme ‘Comparative Social Research’ and told The HSE Look about its design, partnerships and lessons learned from running the programme
Joseph MacInnes has been Assistant Professor at HSE School of Psychology since 2013. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate students of HSE Faculty of Social Sciences. In February he conducted an extended workshop on eyetracking for students of Master’s programme Cognitive Sciences and Technologies: from Neuron to Cognition. Professor MacInnes has talked to HSE News Service about his work at HSE, the nature of his research and shared his recommendations for international students on better adapting to Russian culture.
