New Way to Choose Golden HSE Winners

The candidates for Golden HSE have been nominated and in the middle of December we’ll find out who will be given the laurels. The procedure for choosing a winner has been changed a little this year. HSE Academic Secretary Natalia Savelieva explains what these changes are and how you can best support your candidate.

HSE Extreme Sports Club Invites Students and Staff Members to Finland

HSE Extreme Sports Club invites students, lecturers, and graduates of all HSE campuses as well as their families and friends to spend a week in Finland from 31st January to 6th February 2016. Finland is a great destination if you enjoy snowboarding, ice fishing and other winter activities. Registration is open until December 31.

Bruno Bauwens, an expert in Kolmogorov complexity, is a new recruit at the HSE Faculty of Computer Science. He started in September 2015. Bruno received his PhD from Ghent University in Belgium, after which he held postdoctoral fellowships at Porto University (Portugal), as well as at the University of Montpellier and University of Lorraine.

Annual Survey of Academic Staff Started on November 11

The survey is conducted to collect opinions of the academic staff on the university development strategy and current activities, and to measure their satisfaction with different aspects of work at HSE. The survey comprises questions on changes, new initiatives and various services offered by the university. Staff feedback is crucial to ensure interesting, diverse and productive work environment.

International Experts in the Faculty of Computer Science

An important step in integrating the university into the global educational, scientific and research space is the expansion of international recruiting. Since its very first year, the Faculty of Computer Science at the Higher School of Economics has had a foreign professor working on staff. In 2015, four internationally recruited experts teach and conduct research in the faculty.
