HSE’s Nizhny Novgorod campus has a new professor. Invited Professor Rajarshi Mitra teaches advanced microeconomics to master’s and Ph.D. students, as well as time series analysis and the academic seminar ‘Econometric Analysis and Modeling in Economics and Finance.’ Professor Mitra comes to the HSE from India, though he has many years of experience working and teaching in the West.
5th September is the 80th birthday of the outstanding sociologist and political scientist Ronald Inglehart, Academic Supervisor of the HSE’s International Laboratory for Comparative Social Research (LCSR).
In February-March 2014, the HSE launched six new international laboratories following a tender of three-year projects under the supervision of leading international researchers. One of the projects is the Laboratory of Stochastic Analysis and its Applications.
The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has approved an application to create a long-term associate professorship at the HSE Faculty of History in St. Petersburg. Dr. Dietmar Wulff will hold this position.
From September 2014, Assistant Professor Kyeong Hun Lee will start teaching at the HSE ICEF and the Faculty of Economics. He is a young lecturer, who has joined the HSE as part of the international recruitment programme.

Dr. Udara Peiris received his PhD from the University of Oxford in 2010. He has been part of the HSE faculty for almost two years after accepting the position of Assistant Professor at the International College of Economics and Finance in 2012.
