The latest issue of the HSE LooK brings the Faculty of Mathematics into the spotlight. The Dean of the Faculty, Professor Sergei Lando, speaks about mathematical education in Russia then and now and gives his insights into the academic life of the mathematical collective. Nathan Marcus, Assistant Professor of History, recently joined the HSE campus in St. Petersburg. A scholar of Modern European History, he has a book that will soon be published by Harvard University Press. He recently spoke with HSE news service about his longstanding interest in Russia, his impressions of teaching HSE students and his advice for international students who are thinking about coming to Russia.

The article was coauthored by Alexandros Vardoulakis, Economist at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.
