Originally from Ontario in Canada, Jesse Campbell has been Assistant Professor at the School of Public Administration since the fall 2014. HSE English News asked him to look back over his first year in Moscow and share his impressions.

On October 5th, 2015 Yulia Kovas will give an open lecture at the HSE Centre for Cognition & Decision Making — 'An Introduction to Behavioral Genetics'. Professor of Genetics and Psychology at Goldsmiths College, London University and Co-director of the Russian British Laboratory of Psychogenetics and author of many academic articles, Yulia Kovas will talk about the problems facing contemporary behavioral genetics, how DNA influences the individual variations of a person’s psychological features, what role the interaction between genes and the environment plays in the formation of behaviour and other questions of contemporary behavioral genetics.
In October 2015, the Museum of Moscow will exhibit a unique collection of images of pre-revolutionary Moscow from Sergey Chelnokov’s archive, available for the first time for the general public. Most of the photos were made using the then-unique technique of ‘stereo-pairs’, which require the images to be viewed through a special device, creating a 3D picture. A series of lectures ‘Photography and Cultural Memory’ will run alongside the exhibition.
On Monday 28th September Bernhard Ganter, Professor of Science at the renowned university TU-Dresden in Germany, co-founder and co-director of the Museum of Mathematics, Erlebnisland-Mathematik, will give a public lecture at HSE on Mathematics as an Adventure.

On September 23, the new season of Professors' Wednesdays concerts will open in the newly renovated Professors' Club at HSE. The first to perform before audiences will be Elena Revich (violin) and Sergei Kuznetsov (piano). However, this year's programme will not stop with music.
HSE Open Talks, at HSE Day in Gorky Park this year featured a wide range of lectures in English showcasing the ever increasing numbers of international professors and researchers at the university. Among them was Emiliano Catonini, Assistant Professor at the International College of Economics and Finance.
