The HSE Look - December 2017

It is no wonder that the end-of-the-year issue of The HSE Look at a research university is about research. In the December issue we give an overview of the Research Productivity Assessment monitoring through an interview with Dmitriy Dagaev. The issue also focuses on the introduction of postdoctoral fellows who have joined the university’s laboratories and centres this academic year, and presents useful personal insights by Tim Jaekel in the column “Discovering HSE and Russia”.

Research Productivity Assessment at HSE

The HSE Academic Council approved a new regulation on Research Productivity Assessment (RPA) at its November session. Dmitry Dagaev, Deputy Vice Rector and Associate Professor of the HSE Department of Higher Mathematics, who is responsible for coordinating evaluations of research activities, talked with The HSE Look about the role of RPA at our university and the changes that will be introduced in 2018.

HSE Business Mobile Phone Numbers to be Available at HSE bpm

The phone numbers assigned to HSE staff for business purposes will be available automatically on their personal profiles at HSE bpm. The numbers will be visible to all HSE staff and will make searching required contact information faster and easier.

New HSE Mailouts = Less Junk Mail!

Internal mailouts are an effective way of informing HSE staff about what’s going on at the university. However, occasionally, useful emailing can turn into spam. Our IT specialists have come up with a solution!

This year, the Golden HSE Award features a few new elements. We’ve found a new place for the celebration and altered the voting procedure. Furthermore, the highest-ever number of nominations for the award were received in 2017. Also, so that you won’t get exhausted by the citations of all nominations after the week’s anniversary events, we have prepared several surprises to light up the evening.
