Samuel McClure recently agreed to speak with the HSE news service about his research and what he aims to accomplish in terms of collaboration with specialists at HSE.
On April 7-10, the Laboratory for Comparative Social Research at HSE will hold the Fifth LCSR International Workshop ‘Social and Cultural changes in cross-national perspective: Subjective Well-being, Trust, Social capital and Values’ which will take place as part of the XVI April International Academic Conference on Economic and Social Development. HSE MIEM tourist club invites international students, lecturers and researchers to participate in a trekking trip to Russian South (Western Caucasus, near Sochi). The trip will last 12 days, from April 30 to May 12 . This is going to be a moderately easy trekking route to Gora Oshten. To take part in this trip, one doesn’t have to be a wilderness survival expert. Nevertheless, basic preparation and equipment to ensure safe trekking are required.

At the invitation of the Laboratory of Sociology in Education and Science, renowned sociologist and statistician Tom Snijders is visiting HSE St. Petersburg on March 9-12. Dr. Snijders is a Professor at Oxford University (Great Britain), an emeritus fellow of Nuffield College, and a Professor at the University of Groningen (Netherlands).

Volgy, Professor at the School of Government and Public Policy, University of Arizona USA and Executive Director of the International Studies Association is a political scientist specialising in international politics, democratic processes and domestic public policy.
